The Municipal Directorate of Labor and Social Security , subordinated to the Local Organ of People's Power, was founded in 1976, in charge of governing Labor Policy, Salary and Social Security and advise the state and the government on tendered policy.
In 2007 through the Resolution No. 334/2007, issued by the Ministry of Economy and Planning, authorized the approval of the creation of the Budgeted Unit of the Municipal Directorate of Labor and Social Security Manuel Tames, subordinate to the Local Body of the Municipal People's Power Manuel Tames, in correspondence the President of the Local Organ of the Provincial Popular Power Guantánamo, authorized the creation of the Municipal Directorate of Labor and Social Security Manuel Tames, through Resolution No. 46.
